Hounslow E-Bike Scheme

Hounslow is working with dockless electric bike (e-bike) operator Lime to provide a shared e-bike scheme across the borough. E-bikes can be hired through a smartphone app.

There are a range of pricing options, including discounted ride passes, to suit different travel needs and budgets (see How the Scheme Works page). Whether you are connecting to public transport, off to the shops or exploring Hounslow’s open spaces, the e-bike rental scheme can help you to get where you’re going in a healthy and green way. And because these bikes are powered by electricity, you can use them to give you a boost, take the strain out of cycling and take hills in your stride.

Parking Properly

The Council has created a network of over 250 dedicated e-bike parking bays. All e-bike trips in Hounslow must end in a designated e-bike parking bay, which can be found on the app. The parking bays are marked on the roadway or pavement with the words ‘CYCLE HIRE ONLY’.

E-bike users who choose to abandon their e-bike outside of a parking bay in Hounslow will be warned and fined by the operator. Repeat occurrences will result in the user being banned from the scheme.

Reporting Mis-parked Vehicles

The quickest way to report mis-parked, abandoned or vandalised e-bikes is to contact the operator directly. They will relocate the bike into a nearby bay and take action to warn/fine the user who abandoned it.

Only Lime e-bikes are permitted to end a trip in parking bays in Hounslow. E-scooters are not permitted in Hounslow. Other operators (including Forest and Voi) operate e-bike/e-scooter schemes in neighbouring boroughs. E-bikes/e-scooters from any operator that are found abandoned in Hounslow can be reported.
