On Thursday, 9 January, Work Hounslow, the Council’s Skills and Employment team, will host a free career event featuring charities, Certitude, St Mungo’s and Thames Reach, that work with some of the most vulnerable people in the borough to help them live the best lives they can, through supported housing and floating support services.
These organisations will be at the event offering information and advice, as well as live opportunities ranging from entry-level support worker roles to more experienced positions.
The event is free to attend and will take place at Hounslow House from 10am to 1pm. Register to join here.
Councillor Samia Chaudhary, Cabinet Member for Education, Children, Skills and Employment at Hounslow Council, said:
‘We want to unlock the potential of our residents, with more benefitting from secure, well-paid jobs that offer career progression.
‘This careers event is a key initiative of Work Hounslow to align the needs of residents and with those of employers. It is tailored for sector-specific employers who are fostering local talent and offering progressive career paths. At the same time, residents can explore meaningful careers.’
Each participant will have the opportunity to meet one-to-one with employers to discuss live opportunities, job requirements, career preferences and more.
The day will also feature a variety of informative and inspiring sessions, including employer talks, live Q&As and a breakout workshop offering advice and guidance on writing effective job applications.
