Reconnecting Boston Manor Park

Boston Manor Park is one of our most cherished green spaces. It’s a park with history, beautiful old trees, a lake, a café, sports facilities, and it’s an important community hub.

On this page find out about Reconnecting Boston Manor Park, a multi-million lottery-funded project to restore one of the borough’s green lungs. Read about the project's progress on the blog, and discover what activities, events and volunteering opportunities are coming up.

Why we love Boston Manor Park...

Securing Boston Manor Park for the next 100 years

As any visitor to the park will know, Boston Manor Park is a beautiful green space with so much potential. But a number of challenges have emerged over the years. Parts of the park have become overgrown, limiting biodiversity by keeping out the light, making visitors feel unsafe, and areas by the river and woodland are difficult to access.

The £5.34 million Reconnecting Boston Manor Project has given us the opportunity to address some of the long-standing problems.

The project will invest in the park’s infrastructure and make Boston Manor Park safer to use. It will improve access throughout the park, enabling a wide range of users to enjoy all that the park has to offer. It will enhance its biodiversity, tell the park’s story, and provide a wider range of activities for people using the park.

The project will restore the lake, making a better environment for aquatic life. We will create a new café and learning space, new public toilets, and better changing facilities for those taking part in sport.

The tree work we carried out last winter will improve the layout of the park and its connections with the river and canal, and new tree and shrub planting will add to the park’s biodiversity. The walled garden Is being redesigned as a fruit garden and community space, and pathways throughout the park are being upgraded and redesigned.
