Allotments

An allotment plot is a piece of land which can be rented for growing your own fruit, flowers and vegetables. We currently have 29 active allotment sites managed by Lampton Services Greenspace. 

Prices

Rents are calculated annually according to plot size, measured in rods (one rod is approxinately 25 square metres), as follows:

  • resident standard rate (sites with water):  £13.35 per rod
  • resident standard rate (sites without water): £10.27 per rod
  • concession rate for residents (over 60s): £8.58 per rod
  • concession rate for residents in receipt of benefits: £5.14 per rod
  • non-resident rate (not eligible for concessions): £22.59 per rod (for existing tenants only; applications from non-residents are no longer accepted)

The price of keys for an allotment site is £6.93.

Availability and applying

You can apply online for an allotment. When you apply, you will be added to a waiting list. 

You can express an interest in a plot at one allotment site only. We will contact you when a plot becomes available.

When a place becomes available you will be notified to attend a site visit and confirm whether or not you accept the offer. Payment will then be due.
