Community Infrastructure Levy - charges
This is a charge to raise funds from new developments which pays for community facilities in the Hounslow area.
It applies to all proposals which add 100 square meters of new floor space, or an addition dwelling.
Floor space measurement is done by applying the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors guidelines

Areas the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) can help fund:
- transport facilities
- schools and other educational services
- health amenities
- sporting/recreational facilities and open space
There are two types of fee collected
- Hounslow CIL
- Mayoral CIL
Hounslow Community Infrastructure Levy charges
Mayor's Community Infrastructure Levy
From 1 April 2019, the Mayor of London will be implementing a new Charging Schedule for the Mayor's Community Infrastructure Levy. This is known as MCIL2.The effect of this in Hounslow is that liable developments will be charged at £60 per square metre, altered from the £35 that applies until that date.
