The Sutton Court Road junction with the A4 junction is already busy, so won’t your plans make it worse?
The data collection site on Sutton Court Road (near the junction with Lawford Road) showed the most traffic of any location, with over 8,300 vehicles on an average weekday. Over 60% of this traffic is heading northbound towards the A4. The proposed measures work together to restrict through traffic accessing Sutton Court Road, in turn keeping it on the A205, A316 and A4.
The Hartington Road closure has the potential to remove 3,000 vehicles daily, accessing Sutton Court Road via Grove Park Bridge, with an additional 1,300 vehicles removed via the ‘access only’ zone on Thames Road / Strand on the Green. Additional restrictions on Staveley Road also look to restrict access to Sutton Court Road from the east.
