A temporary traffic restriction order (TTRO) must be obtained when carrying out works on footways and highways.
It is necessary to consider the introduction of temporary traffic management arrangements such as highway and footway closures, parking restrictions, bus lane suspensions, for the duration of the work. A TTRO can last for just a few hours or up to 18 months depending on the nature of the work and costs £1980.
We must receive your application at least six weeks before the restriction is required
If less than six weeks’ notice is given then the restriction may have to be delayed. We will only bring a restriction into force without delay in exceptional circumstances, such as; if there is a danger to the public, or because of serious damage to the road.
Prior to an application being submitted, Hounslow Highways must be contacted to arrange a site visit.

If the work requires parking bays to be suspended to facilitate the works, you will need to liaise with our parking department for bay suspensions and associated fees; you can contact them by emailing the Hounslow suspensions team
Payment of TTRO fee
The TTRO fee is £1980 and payment can be made by BACs or Credit card. You will need to obtain a TTRO reference number from the Traffic Orders team by emailing trafficorders@hounslow.gov.uk which you will need to quote on either of these payment methods. Submitting a BACS payment without a TTRO reference may cause delays in processing your TTRO.
