Climate and Clean Air CRG

The community are at the heart of our climate emergency and green recovery ambitions and many residents have expressed a strong desire to work in partnership with the Council to improve the borough’s air quality and reducing the Council’s and the wider borough carbon footprint. This will in part, be achieved by co-designing the delivery and implementation of the Clean Air for All Programme (adopted in September 2020) and the Climate Emergency Action Plan

The wider remit of the Climate and Clean Air CRG:

  • to encompass the monitoring and implementation of the Climate Emergency Action Plan and the Air Quality Action Plan
  • to work with the internal Council officer led Board to co-create and prioritise actions, as well as assisting in increasing transparency and public understanding around the Council’s opportunities and constraints for action
  • to assist the Council in galvanising the required wider civic support necessary to deliver the ambitious changes required to respond to the declaration of an emergency.

Meetings: You’ll need to attend the 4 quarterly core meetings each year (virtually or in-person). Meeting will focus on progress updates, presentations from internal and external guests and CRG members to update on CRG actions. You’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with the council and other CRG members outside of core meetings.
