Who can apply?
To join the Democracy Ambassadors Programme, you need to:
- be aged 16 to 18
- live in the London Borough of Hounslow
- be passionate about making a difference and promoting democratic engagement in your community

- Applications Close: 12 June 2026
- Programme Launch: July 2026
- Workshop: August 2026
- Group Presentation: TBC
- Conducting your project: Summer 2026
- Project Report Deadline: 31 August 2026
- Results Day: September 2026
- Awards Ceremony: September 2026

When outlining your project plan, you should include:
- The What – what are going to do? Be specific here and use action words like launch. Maybe you’ll a launch social media voter registration drive!
- The Why – what’s your project’s goal? why do you want to do this?
- The Who – be specific, who do you want to engage with democracy? is it your schoolmates, community, or someone else?
- The How – what steps will you take to will you reach your goal? Don’t forget to keep them simple!
- The Result – how will you measure the change you want to achieve? Link this back to 'The Why!'
When answering the application questions, remember to:
- Identify what the question is asking – is it asking you to explain, compare etc.?
- What’s your point? – In a sentence or two, be clear in your answer to the question
- Back it up – use two or three facts to provide evidence to support your point.
