Anti-social behaviour in Montague Road West Car Park (Localised)
Our Public Spaces Protection Order for Anti-Social Behaviour in Montague Road West Car Park came into effect on 23 December 2025 and will remain in place for a period of three years.
The order is designed to prevent specific behaviours outlined below to ensure that people feel safe and secure when using our public spaces. These behaviours include:
- Littering
- Urination, defecation, deposit of saliva or mucus
- Rough sleeping
- Use of the premises overnight other than for the purpose of parking vehicles
- Obstruction of entrance or exit to or stairwells
- Taking of psychoactive substances (legal highs)
- Congregating or loitering as part of a group of persons in connection with any of the above activities.
The order will also contribute to keeping public spaces clean, however rather than seeing the order as solely an enforcement tool, with communication, signage, and awareness campaigns, it will serve as a key element in supporting our preventative approach to keeping the borough safe and welcoming.
