A baby naming ceremony is a special, non-religious celebration to welcome a child into the family and wider community.
It’s a meaningful way to mark the occasion of a birth or adoption and to formally announce the child’s chosen name.
Naming ceremonies are purely celebratory and hold no legal standing. You still need to register a birth if you're planning a naming ceremony.
What to expect
A ceremony is tailored to reflect your family’s values, beliefs and wishes. You can include readings, music and promises from parents or supporting adults.
You can hold a ceremony at an approved venue in the borough or at Feltham Lodge. You can invite as many guests as the venue allows.
Fees for the ceremony vary depending on the venue and day.
We can provide a commemorative certificate for the ceremony. This is not a birth certificate.
