Early help

We offer a range of early help services specifically designed to support children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and their families. These services provide early intervention and tailored support to promote positive outcomes from birth up to 25 years old.

For information about general early help services available to all families in Hounslow, please visit the Early Help for families page on the main Hounslow website.

Family hubs

Family hubs offer early help support for families of children and young people with SEND. They provide advice, guidance, and access to services without the need for a referral.

You can contact your local Family hub for initial support and information.

Childcare for children with SEND

Information about childcare options suitable for children and young people with SEND is available through our family services directory. For children under five with significant or complex needs, referrals can be made to Early years support for additional support.

Portage service

Our portage service provides a home-visiting educational support programme for pre-school children with complex learning needs and developmental delays. Referrals to this service are usually made by health professionals, education staff or local authority officers.
