There are two types of additional government funding available for your child’s early years provider to help support their SEND needs:
Disability access fund (DAF)
This fund can be used to make reasonable adjustments to your child’s early years settings.
To be eligible, your child will need to be receiving Disability Living Allowance and one of the following:
- the universal 15 hours entitlement for three and four-year-olds
- the 15 hours entitlement for families receiving additional support
- the 15 hours entitlement for children of working families aged nine months to 3 years
Please note that if your four-year-old is in primary reception class, they will not be eligible for the funding.
Your child's early years provider applies for the funding.
You will need to provide them with:
- a completed and signed disability access fund (DAF) parent and carer declaration form
- a copy of the eligible child’s Disability Living Allowance (DLA) letter
SEN inclusion fund
Early years providers can apply for additional funding, called SEN inclusion funding, to help support children with SEND.
To be eligible, your child must:
- be nine months to four years old with a recognised level of SEND
- present with a severe to profound learning delay
- attend an Ofsted-registered early years provider in the London Borough of Hounslow which provides government-funded places
You must agree before your child's early years provider can apply for SEN inclusion funding for your child.
