Application timetable for new year 7 secondary place

This page shows key dates for applying for a year 7 secondary place starting in September 2026.

Main application period opens.
31 October 2025
  • Main application period closes.
  • You can make an application after this date, but it will be a late application.
  • Late applications are not considered until all on-time applications have been considered and allocated.
2 March 2026 Offer day. You will receive your offer of a year 7 secondary school place if you made an on-time application.
16 March 2026 Deadline day for accepting an offer.
13 April 2026 Deadline for making an appeal for a year 7 place.
Mid August 2026 (exact date TBC) End of late application period. You need to make an in-year application for a place in year 7 for the school year starting September 2026.
1 September 2026 Main application period opens for transferring to year 7 in September 2027.
