Make an application
To start at or move to a primary or secondary school in Hounslow during the school year 2025-26, you need to make an in-year application.
If you're unsure, you can check which application you should use for your child at their age.
You apply for an in-year school place with us if the school or schools you wish to apply to are in Hounslow.
If the school you wish to apply to is not in Hounslow, you need to either:
- contact the school directly
- contact the council in which the school is located
Before you apply
Read information about changing schools to make sure it's the right thing for your child to do.
When you apply
You can apply up to three schools. You list the schools in order of preference.
Each of your preferences will be considered individually under each school's admission criteria.

Proof of address
You need to provide suitable proof of address when you apply.

Supplementary information forms
Some schools require you to complete a supplementary information form (SIF) alongside your main application.

After you apply
Once you have submitted your application and supporting documents, please do not return to or make any changes to your application. This may cancel your application. Instead, please contact us.
We will process your application and advise you of the outcome by email.
