Reception primary school place offer

If you made an application for a school place before the on-time deadline on 15 January 2026, you will receive an offer of a school place on Thursday 16 April 2026.

You will receive an email between 5pm and 10pm. If you don't see the email, make sure you check your spam and junk folders.

You need to wait until you've received an email before returning to your application and responding to your offer.

If you have not been offered your first preference school, we will also write to you on 16 April 2026.

The letter will provide more information about your options, including making an appeal and the school waiting list system.

What you need to do

You need to respond to our offer by Thursday 30 April 2026.

After this, your online application will close and you will not be able to accept your offer.

To accept the offer, click on the "reply” button at the end of the offer email. This will take you to your application.

You then need to:

  • Login with your username and password
  • Accept your school place
  • Make sure you submit your response

If you have not been offered your preferred school:

You should still accept the place you have been offered. 

Accepting this place does not affect your chances of being offered a place at a preferred school either through the waiting list or appeal process.

Likewise, declining the offer does not increase your chances of being offered a place at a preferred school either through the waiting list or appeal process.

You can decline this place later once you have a secured a place at another school.

You should only decline an offer if you have already secured a place at another school or made alternative arrangements for your child’s education (for example, private education). You will need to provide this information with your response.

Your right to appeal

If your child has not been offered a place at one of your preferred schools, you have the right to appeal to an independent panel.

You can only make an appeal if you have:

  • received notification that we have not been able to offer you the school of your preference
  • listed the school on your application form

The deadline for making an appeal is 15 May 2026.
