We are proud to support the National Year of Reading

Reading opens doors, to imagination, learning, connection and wellbeing. In 2026, community hub and libraries across Hounslow are celebrating the National Year of Reading with a year‑long programme of events, activities and challenges for children, young people and adults.

Whether you’re a lifelong reader or haven’t picked up a book in years, there’s something for you. Join us as we celebrate reading for pleasure, creativity and community.

What is the National Year of Reading?

The National Year of Reading is a nationwide campaign to encourage people of all ages to discover (or rediscover) the joy of reading. In Hounslow, community hub and libraries are working to make reading:

  • enjoyable, fun, social and inspiring
  • accessible for all ages, abilities and backgrounds
  • part of everyday life, at home, in libraries, schools and communities

Get involved

There are lots of ways to take part in the National Year of Reading
