Parking price changes - February 2021
From Monday 15 February, prices for a number of our parking services will be changing.
More information about the changes
Pay and display
There are many places you can park on the streets.
Just make sure there's no parking restrictions, or you could receive a parking ticket (PCN).
You can park in pay and display locations across the borough. You just need to buy a ticket for the amount of time you need and display it clearly. Alternatively you can pay by phone, where available, for the amount of time you wish to stay
In some areas you can park free for 30 minutes, if you get a ticket from the parking meter or through the cashless parking provider.
Pay by phone
You will also see parking signs with phone numbers on them.
You can then pay using your debit/ credit card.
Or you can pay much quicker using the PaybyPhone app
Motorcycle parking
As a motorcycle user you can park in the following places:
- in a dedicated motorcycle bay on-street or in a car park
- in a resident bay/ shared use bay
Where you can't park
- on the pavement (unless there's a motorcycle parking bay there)
- on yellow lines
Parking on pavements
Unless there are white lines marking a parking bay, parking on the pavement is not permitted at any time.
Dropped kerb/ raised carriageway parking
Dropped kerbs are an area where the pavement is lowered to road level. You might see these on driveways and cycle lanes.
Raised carriageways are where the road is elevated to meet the pavement.
Parking on, or preventing access to dropped kerb/ raised carriageway parking is an offence.
Driveways
If there are no parking restrictions on the road, like yellow lines, you or a visitor can park adjacent to your own driveway.
If the driveway serves several properties, you cannot park there.
Bank holiday parking
On bank holidays, parking in Council managed pay and display bays, resident permit bays and shared use bays is free. Single yellow lines in a controlled parking zone (CPZ) which are not accompanied by a seperate time plate are also unrestricted.
Parking in CPZ R (Twickenham event zone) is still restricted if an event is taking place.
All other parking restrictions still apply.
