Housing Performance Indicators and Terminology

  • Number of households on the housing register: This is the number of people or families currently waiting for a council home.
  • Non-emergency repairs: These are repairs that are needed but not urgent. For example, fixing a broken cupboard door or a dripping tap. These are booked in for a convenient time.
  • Emergency repairs: These are repairs that need to be done straight away because they could cause harm or serious damage. For example, no heating in winter, a major leak, or unsafe electrics.
  • Number of households on the housing waiting list: The number of households waiting for social housing in the area.
