How the scheme works
We work with operators Forest and Voi to enable residents and visitors to hire shared e-bikes in Hounslow.
E-bike users must be aged:
- 16 or over for Voi
- 18 or over for Forest
You can locate and hire e-bikes using the operators’ smartphone apps. The e-bikes must be picked up and dropped off in designated e-bike parking bays, which are visible on the apps.
Users who do not follow parking rules will receive a warning from operators. Repeated violations may result in fines and/or being suspended or banned from the scheme.
Only Forest and Voi e-bikes are permitted to end a ride in Hounslow. E-bikes belonging to other operators are prohibited from parking. E-scooters (including private and shared scooters from any operator) are also prohibited in Hounslow.
E-bike operator service areas and parking rules may differ in neighbouring boroughs and are subject to change. When travelling between boroughs, you need to plan accordingly by following the instructions on the operators’ apps.
Pricing and discounts
There is a range of pricing options. You can pay as you go or pre-purchase discounted bundles and subscriptions. Both operators also have cycle to work schemes. Visit the operators’ apps and websites for full details on pricing and discounts, including:
- Forest’s dynamic pricing model, offering discounts of up to 30 free minutes per ride (pus a £1 unlock fee per ride).
- Voi4Hounslow, offering Hounslow residents a 50% discount on 30-minute bundles (30-minute ride for £1.75).
Both operators also offer discounted rides (up to 50% off) for:
- NHS staff
- emergency service workers
- students
- people over 60
- people on low incomes
- refugees
- asylum seekers
- people with disabilities
- military personnel and veterans
- delivery drivers
- apprentices
- staff at higher education institutions
