School admissions

Your child’s education is extremely important and will lay the foundations for all that comes afterwards. Depending on the type of admission you require, there are several different ways to apply for a school place.

Nursery admissions
Children born between 1 September 2011 and 31 August 2012 can be admitted to a nursery class attached to a primary school from September 2015

Primary school admissions
Children born between 1 September 2010 and 31 August 2011 can take up a full-time place in a reception class from September 2015

Infant to junior transfer
Parents with a child in an infant school must make an application to transfer their child into a junior school. This process takes place whilst your child is in year 2

Secondary school transfer
Children born between 1 September 2003 and 31 August 2004 will transfer from primary school to secondary school in September 2015

In-year admissions
If you have recently moved to Hounslow, or wish to change schools outside the normal years of admission (reception or year 7 for admissions in September 2015), you will need to make an in-year application
