Disruption to waste and recycling collections

Some waste and recycling collections have been affected by vehicle breakdowns. If your collection has been missed, please check our latest service updates before reporting it, as your road may already be listed.

A collection can take place any time between 7am and 5pm on your collection day.

You can report a missed collection between 5pm on your collection day and 5pm the next working day.

Before you make your report

Consider whether your recycling and rubbish was presented correctly. This means:

  • before 7am on your collection day (or 5am if it's going to be 33°C or above, 6am if it's going to be 28°C or above)
  • your bins or containers are placed on the front boundary of your property, in a location that is clearly visible and accessible from (but not on) the pavement, with the lid fully closed and all waste contained within the bin
  • the bin or box is not contaminated and the correct items are in the correct containers

It's also possible your collection wasn't due. You can use our online tool to look up your collection day.

When we'll collect

If we've missed a collection, we'll return within two working days.

If we haven't made your collection because it wasn't presented correctly, you will need to wait until your next scheduled collection. Or, if we have not collected a wheelie bin, you can request a one-off collection.
