Hounslow Council’s Income Collection team manage council owned garages across our Council estates. In some areas of the borough, we may have a limited number of vacant garages which are available to let.
You can rent a garage from us if you are a:
- tenant
- leaseholder
- private resident of the London Borough of Hounslow.
For further information contact us on 020 8583 4000.
Waiting lists
Some areas are very popular, and you will be added to a waiting list if there are no garages available. We can add you to more than one list if there is more than one location that is suitable.
What you can use a garage for
You can use a garage to park your vehicle.
However you must not:
- store flammable materials, gas cylinders, chemicals or perishable items
- set up a source of ignition or a gas or electricity supply.
Please note:
The council reserves the right to refuse an application if your housing rent or service charge account is in arrears. If your account goes into arrears your garage will be repossessed. If you are a council tenant and get behind with your rent for your home, we may end your garage agreement, even if you do not owe rent for the garage.
The Council has discretion to vary the licence fee, other charges or any terms of the licence by giving 7 days' written notice.

To apply for a garage, please complete the application form below, specifying where you would like your garage to be located.
When a garage becomes available in this area, you will be contacted by our Garage Officer to arrange the letting of the garage.
What happens next?
Once we have processed your application and found a garage in a suitable area, we will ask you to come to the office to sign for the garage.
You will need to bring your:

The licensee must leave the garage clear of all belongings and in a reasonable state of repair and condition.
