Hounslow Council is encouraging residents to take share their views on its draft Climate Change Resilience Plan, which is open for feedback until 27 March 2026.

Climate change is already affecting London through rising temperatures, more frequent heatwaves and increasing flood risk. With these impacts  expected to intensify over coming decade, the draft plan sets out how Hounslow can prepare for, and recover from, the impacts of a changing climate, and continue to protect people, including vulnerable residents, as well as services, infrastructure, and the environment.

Developed using local data, modelling and future climate trends alongside insights from council staff, statutory partners and residents, the draft plan is now open for wider public feedback to ensure it reflects the priorities and experiences of the whole community.

Councillor Katherine Dunne, Cabinet Member for Climate, Environment and Transport at Hounslow Council, said:

In recent years, we have seen how extreme heat, flooding and poor air quality affect our communities, and we know these challenges are only going to intensify. That’s why we’re asking residents to help us shape a plan that prepares Hounslow for the future.

I believe that effective climate policy relies on solid evidence, clear priorities, co-ordination with partners and listening to our communities, because resilience is something we build together. This consultation is your chance to tell us what matters most, what worries you, and what you think will help keep our homes, neighbourhoods and public spaces safe as our weather becomes more unpredictable.

Your feedback on this draft plan will help us build stronger, more resilient communities, especially for those most vulnerable to the impacts of the climate emergency.

You can take part by:

  • Requesting a paper copy, large print or translated version by contacting consult@hounslow.gov.uk or 020 8583 2000
  • Picking up a survey from your local library, completing it and returning it to staff

The consultation runs until 27 March 2026.
