All are welcome to attend the Council’s free International Women’s Day at Hounslow House on Thursday 5 March from 10am – 2 pm. You can register for your free ticket here: https://IWD2026Hounslow.eventbrite.co.uk.

The day’s programme will celebrate the diversity of Hounslow and will include:

  • Angela Parton, Chair of the Friends of Feltham Green and a recent Hounslow Community Award recipient, will speak about the benefits of volunteering and her own personal journey and triumphs
  • A musical session performed by Mariola Swietlicka, who will be singing retro 20s and 30s Polish and English songs.

Alongside the programme of speakers, there will also be time to network and meet some of the community organisations supporting women in Hounslow:

Councillor Ajmer Grewal, Cabinet Member for Residents Support, Communities and Equalities at Hounslow Council, said:

Our borough succeeds when women and girls can lead, contribute and belong without barriers. That’s why I’m so excited to be inviting residents from across Hounslow to join us at this event for International Women’s Day, which promises to be an insightful and inspiring session. I’m looking forward to hearing from some of our Borough’s amazing community organisations and discussing how we can work together to promote gender equality in Hounslow by driving greater opportunities and support for our women and girls.
