The Council is inviting families to share their experiences of children’s services in the borough.
As part of the national Families First Partnership Programme, Hounslow Council is reviewing how it works with children and families to make sure the right support is available at the right time – and as early as possible.
There are two surveys open to residents, one tailored to young people who have experience of children’s services and another for adults. All responses will remain anonymous. Surveys are open until Saturday, 31 January 2026. The Surveys can be accessed and completed here Families First Survey | Let's Talk Hounslow.
By taking part, residents will help the Council understand what is working well, identify where improvements can be made, and ensure that services are designed around the real needs of families. Feedback gathered through this engagement will directly inform how early, joined-up support is delivered in the future.
The Council is particularly keen to hear from anyone who has experience of engaging with children’s services in Hounslow, including:
- Children’s Social Care, including being linked to a social worker or alternatively qualified worker
- Early Help Adolescent Support and Prevention Team (ASaP), formerly Adolescent Support Team, in relation to youth offending, exploitation (including grooming, anti-social behaviour and online, sexual and criminal exploitation), identity-based harm and school exclusions
- Early Help for children with disabilities, including being linked to a family support worker and accessing Short Breaks, which provide an opportunity for children and young people aged 0 to 18 with disabilities to have fun away from their families and carers
- Family Group Conferencing, where a family would develop a care plan with support from an independent coordinator
Councillor Samia Chaudhary, Cabinet Member for Education, Children, Skills & Employment at Hounslow Council, said “Listening to children, young people and families is essential to making sure our services truly meet their needs. By sharing their experiences, residents will help us build earlier, more joined-up support that makes a real difference at the right time. I would encourage all families and young people who have engaged with children’s services to take advantage of this opportunity to shape the future of children’s services in Hounslow.”
A physical copy of the survey can also be collected from Hounslow’s Community Hubs and Libraries.
