Hounslow Council is delivering one of the most ambitious regeneration and growth programmes in the UK, driven by its long-term commitment to opportunity, inclusive growth and improving life chances for residents.
Since launching its Business Case for Growth, the borough has been accelerating investment, unlocking innovation and working closely with communities and partners to deliver real change on the ground. This progress is already being seen across the borough – and Future Feltham represents the next phase of that journey.
Shaped by its communities and with strong links to Heathrow, Feltham is ready for the next chapter. Hounslow Council’s Cabinet has approved the Future Feltham Investment Framework to deliver up to 3,000 homes, over 9,000 high quality jobs and enhanced connectivity, with the Ministry of Defence site at its heart.
There are three flagship opportunities:
- A brand new neighbourhood on the MoD Site
A centrepiece of the Framework, this will be transformed into London’s first truly green, intergenerational neighbourhood. Through a pioneering tripartite public, public, public sector partnership, with the Ministry of Defence, and the GLA the site will deliver much-needed homes, employment, green space and community facilities, setting a benchmark for sustainable placemaking in the capital.
- Young people, skills and jobs at the heart of growth
The Framework puts young people and skills at the centre of Feltham’s growth, ensuring local residents benefit directly from new opportunities. With renewed accessible and fit for purpose leisure and sports amenities.
Working with key partners, the Council will create an education and skills hub, strengthen routes from learning into work and connect residents to jobs linked to Heathrow and growth sectors including food innovation, film, TV and logistics.
- A greener, more connected and culturally vibrant town
The third opportunity is to create a greener, more connected and culturally vibrant Feltham.
This includes enhancing parks and open spaces, investing in community and cultural assets and reimagining the Longford River as a green corridor that improves biodiversity, accessibility and connections across town.
The Framework builds on significant progress already underway in Feltham, including:
- Over 1,500 homes delivered or in the pipeline.
- Progress at Hanworth Park House, unlocking new homes, heritage restoration and improved access to Hanworth Park.
- New community assets including the Eco Cabin and Freddie Mercury Memorial Garden.
- The new Feltham Community Hub and Library, and the Council’s Lifelong Learning division working in partnership with UWL to offer tailored courses for Feltham’s residents.
- Enhanced parks and open spaces across Feltham.
Councillor Shantanu Rajawat, the Leader of Hounslow Council, said: “Feltham is a town with strong communities and huge potential, and this Framework sets out our ambition to take the next steps.
“It builds on the progress we’ve made in delivering new homes, community assets and public spaces. It gives us a clear roadmap for new major sites and future investment.
“We are turning ambition into delivery. By approving this Framework, we are making sure investment will transform Feltham for local people, now and for the long term.”
Cllr Tom Bruce, the Deputy Leader of Hounslow Council, said: “Future Feltham shows how regeneration can be ambitious, inclusive and rooted in place. This Framework brings together housing, skills and green infrastructure in a way that will genuinely improve everyday life for residents.
“By working in partnership with our communities, public sector partners and investors, we are creating the conditions for long-term, sustainable growth that benefits Feltham now and for generations to come.”
