Starting in February 2026, the University of West London (UWL) will offer two free short courses: Introduction to Business and Introduction to Podcasting.
. The courses are designed to give adult learners a taste of university-level study and help them build new skills for work and personal development.
Delivered through weekly three-hour evening sessions at Feltham Library over 14 weeks, the programmes are aimed at local residents looking to upskill, re-skill or explore a new direction. Successful completion will provide learners with a 20-credit qualification that can be used towards future study.
These micro-credential courses form part of UWL’s long-term commitment to lifelong learning in partnership with the London Borough of Hounslow, supporting skills development, employability and local economic growth.
Professor Peter John CBE, Vice-Chancellor and President of UWL, said:
“Our ongoing initiative in Feltham is designed to strengthen education and skills development across the community, and these short courses mark an important milestone in that mission. By offering accessible, high-quality learning in partnership with the London Borough of Hounslow, we are helping residents take meaningful steps towards further study, new career routes and long-term economic opportunity.”
Hounslow Council Leader, Councillor Shantanu Rajawat, added: “Feltham is set for one of the most significant transformation programmes in west London, featuring major regeneration, jobs, new public spaces and an investment into learning and opportunity. This partnership with UWL provides pathways towards possibility and is an early indication of our commitment to inclusive growth from the ground up in the area.”
