Hounslow Council have issued a response to allegations published on the My London website.
“Hounslow Council made full and open responses to FOI requests made by My London’s journalist in February and September, and this information was provided in full compliance with the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
“Any suggestion by My London that the Council has done anything other than to play its proper role in a multi-partner, multi-agency investigation, or that the administration has failed to disclose anything, is incorrect. Inaccurate reporting risks increasing community fears and discrediting the tireless efforts of those working every day to keep our communities safe.
“The Hounslow Safeguarding Partnership, operating as a multi-agency body, has fulfilled all statutory obligations in relation to these matters. Allegations of grooming, grooming gangs, or child sexual exploitation are treated with the utmost seriousness.
“Hounslow Council has robust, well-established safeguarding procedures in place to identify exploitation, pursue perpetrators, disrupt criminal activity, and protect vulnerable young people. We remain fully committed to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children and young people in our borough.”
