Sixth Form success sees Hounslow students once again beat national average

Cllr Rajawat joins pupils from Lampton School for their sixth form results day

Students in Hounslow schools have once again celebrated excellent A-Level results with a pass rate of over 97%.

Hounslow schools have also achieved a 99% pass rate in BTEC qualifications with nine schools achieving a 100% pass rate, and 11% of pupils reaching the distinction* grade.

Councillor Shantanu Rajawat, leader of the Council was with students from Lampton School as they received their results and commented:

“The last two years of these student’s dedication, resilience, and determination have finally paid off. Whether you are going to university, starting an apprenticeship, or moving into the world of work, we are incredibly proud of you and excited to see the bright futures you are building in our borough.”

Kate Vowles Assistant Headteacher and Director of Sixth Form at Lampton school said:

“Today it has been wonderful to see all the students arriving, collecting their results, and accepting university offers. We want all our students to fulfil their potential, and we know all the arduous work that goes into that over the two years from our students, our staff and all the supportive parents.”

Councillor Samia Chaudhary, Cabinet Member for Education, Children, Skills, and Employment at Hounslow Council said:

“I want to congratulate our A Level and BTEC students in Hounslow for their incredible effort. Over 76% of A-Levels were awarded at the top grades of A*- C.

“Their incredible hard work has paid off and we are proud of what they have achieved. I would also like to thank our teachers who work tirelessly to deliver the absolute best outcomes for our students. I wish all the students well for the future.”
