The Local Studies Service collects documents, material and images relating to the places and parishes that make up the modern London Borough of Hounslow.

Family history researchers and all enquirers visiting Chiswick and Feltham from some distance away are recommended to make an appointment in advance of their visit.

The opening hours of the Local Studies services are limited in comparison with the opening hours of the Feltham and Chiswick Public Libraries, in which they are housed.

If you wish to visit Chiswick after 5pm on Thursdays, please make an appointment in advance via telephone or e-mail.

We hold maps, newspapers on microfilm, books, directories, Electoral Rolls, 19th century Censuses, Council Minutes, Rate Books and a wide collection of images.

Material on the West and Central areas of the borough is held at Feltham Library. Material on Brentford and Chiswick is held at Chiswick Library
