Chiswick town centre regeneration

About Chiswick Town Centre

Chiswick town centre is defined as a Major Centre in the London Plan (2021). Much of the town centre falls within conservation areas that protect the heritage and distinct and cherished local character with low-rise buildings in grid patterned leafy streets, and the integral green spaces of Chiswick Common and Turnham Green.

The town centre is locally and regionally significant as a destination of choice, boasting a wide range of independent shops, chain stores, financial and professional services, quality homes, green spaces, restaurants, cafes, pubs, bars, flower, food and antique and vintage markets. It is well connected to central London via the tube and train (zone 3).

Further commercial activity can be found to the west of the town centre in the high-quality office space at Chiswick Business Park and also at Power Road which have become headquarters of multiple large organisations and magnets for media/tech giants and creative start-ups respectively. Locally, Chiswick House & Gardens, Hogarth House, and river front walks are all within easy reach. Away from the business park, there is also flexible workspace just off Chiswick High Road to cater for smaller businesses. Chiswick also has an active residential market with several developments currently on site.

A vision for Chiswick

Chiswick will continue to be an attractive and desirable place to live and visit. Its existing choice of shops, places to work, eat, drink and be entertained will be strengthened and offer choice for all age groups and families. Chiswick High Road will be a welcoming, safe and healthy environment, hosting events, markets and connected to well used green spaces. Chiswick will champion local initiatives and the Town Hall will be a focal point of community initiatives.
