To mark the funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, His Majesty King Charles III has announced that Monday, 19 September, will be a bank holiday.
Some Hounslow Council services will be closed or will operate at a reduced capacity. Services will resume as normal from Tuesday, 20 September.
Council owned buildings
Hounslow House, Chiswick Town Hall and Assembly Halls will be closed.
Isleworth Public Hall will be open in the evening for a private event.
Schools and children's centres
Schools, academies and children’s centres in Hounslow will be closed.
Sports and leisure centres
Lampton Leisure will not be operating any group classes, activities or Swim School sessions. Facilities will be open for general use only.
Libraries, archives and historical houses
All Council-led cultural services including libraries, archives and historical houses will be closed.
Books of condolences held in libraries, public halls and the Registration Office, Feltham Lodge will reopen to the Public on Tuesday and officially close at 5pm, when the books will be sent to the archives.
Recycling and rubbish collections
Hounslow residents’ recycling and waste collections will be one day later across the week.
These changes will be for one week only and are set to return to normal on Monday, 26 September.
