The housing and construction services have been greatly impacted by Covid-19 along with many other services. As part of our commitment to support the community through recovery we are working hard to develop new opportunities for local businesses and residents working in building services.
For Businesses
The Council is working hard to develop new supply chains and new tendering processes that will enable local businesses to take part in building the future homes and facilities for our local communities.
Local businesses should register for the London Tenders Portal. The portal provides opportunities for businesses to bid for local building contracts from the Council. This includes all types of construction work such as carpentry, electrical, refurbishment work, plastering, scaffolding, supply of skips and professional services, including architectural, surveying, ecological, security, and catering.
Registering on the London Tenders Portal is free for all traders.
The benefits to suppliers include:
- Suppliers' details are stored in the portal which means suppliers will be automatically notified of all opportunities within a suppliers’ chosen field of expertise when an opportunity arises. This should encourage greater numbers of suppliers to bid, including more local small medium enterprises.
- The portal provides a single point of access to what Hounslow and other London boroughs are purchasing, making it much easier to find and bid for opportunities.
- Enables regular communications without the use of paper with reminders and notifications.
- Direct contact with the Council’s Procurement Team.
