The team aims to help people in our borough with learning disabilities and autism to thrive by providing a range of services aimed at connecting people with activities to help them overcome the barriers they face, providing people with opportunities to socialise, independent travel and employment opportunities.

The services provided through Community Provisions are:

  • Community Access Service - CAS Provides a wide range of community-based activities and projects for local Hounslow residents from the age of 18 with mild to moderate learning disabilities and autistic spectrum conditions (ASC). The service provides meaningful opportunities for residents to make friends, increase inclusion, stay healthy and make informed choices, learn new skills and reduce the risk of isolation. We work closely with residents to identify a wide range of activities and opportunities.
  • Travel Training Service - The service provides independent travel training and travel support to residents aged 16 and over with a learning or physical disability, autism, mental health difficulty, sensory impairment or long-term health condition. The service aims to make you more travel confident and covers public transport (buses, trains and tube) and walking routes.
  • Prevention, Transition & Development Service - The Prevention, Transition and Development service supports adults with disabilities (particularly Learning Disabilities and Autism Spectrum Conditions) to identify, source and access activities that support individuals to overcome barriers. The service provides a focused approach by enabling residents to connect to accessible opportunities that empower them to thrive.
  • Employment Opportunities - The service enables Hounslow residents with disabilities aged 18+ to find and maintain meaningful paid employment through a personalised approach offering advice, vocational guidance, training and on-the-job support, when necessary. The main focus is to provide a rapid response service for those in paid employment and their employers to overcome any potential barriers affecting the individual’s job retention.

All the services provided by the Community Provisions team are free to eligible residents.
