One Hounslow Community Stars celebrates the people, groups, organisations and businesses that make a positive difference in our borough.
Every day, individuals and organisations across Hounslow go above and beyond to support others, strengthen communities and improve local lives. These awards recognise their achievements and celebrate the people who help make Hounslow a great place to live, work and visit.
There are no set categories for nominations. However, we have provided a range of themes to help guide your nomination. A person, group or organisation may fit one or more themes.
The most important thing is the positive impact they have had on Hounslow and its communities.
We encourage nominations from anyone who would like to recognise and celebrate someone making an outstanding contribution to the borough.
Who can nominate?
Nominations can be submitted by:
- residents
- community organisations
- local businesses
- partner organisations and stakeholders
- councillors
Who can be nominated?
You can nominate:
- individuals
- community groups
- voluntary and community organisations
- local businesses
Hounslow Council employees cannot nominate or be nominated. Councillors can submit nominations but cannot be nominated for an award.
Award themes
Neighbourhood Hero
People who help their neighbours, create community spirit, foster a local support network and inspire civic pride. This could include bringing people and organisations together, encouraging partnership working, building trust between people, or supporting others to reach their potential, whatever their background.
Green Champion
This could be someone who is driven to improve their local area, supporting and educating communities to adopt greener lifestyles, care for shared spaces, or work together to create a more sustainable neighbourhood. This person might address environmental challenges through creative new ideas or approaches.
Business for Good
A local business or organisation that gives back, supporting local people or the local neighbourhood, beyond its core business. Perhaps they provide jobs, training or other opportunities to disadvantaged groups, or offer community initiatives or support.
Inspiring Young Person
Anyone under 25-years-old who goes above and beyond for their family, friends or local community. They may be full of energy and heart, or quiet and resourceful. This young person may have helped other people, raised awareness and support for a local cause, or lead the way on improving their local area.
Culture and Creativity
This can be a person or group that enriches their neighbourhood and the lives of others through arts, culture, and creativity. Perhaps they bring people together through a creative group or activity, maybe they provide opportunities for aspiring artists, or they could support, champion and motivate others with their creative endeavours.
