Sandbanks is a purpose-built care home, managed by Hounslow Council. It is located in a quiet, residential road in Feltham. Sandbanks provides 24-hour care and supervision for permanent residents, both men and women over the age of 55 who are no longer able to live independently at home. Sandbanks also provides a day care service offering a wide range of activities.
Sandbanks offers dignified, supported independent living with:
- Comfortable accommodation for 60 people
- 24-hour care and supervision
- private bedrooms with en-suite toilet and shower facilities
- relaxing group lounges for social activities
- trained professional staff specialising in dementia care
- easy access to doctors, community nurses and other medical care
- End of life care is also provided by a specialist team.
Sandbanks aims to:

- help residents maintain and develop their independence, whilst offering support to carers
- offer social interaction with others and provide an opportunity to make new friends
- achieve a stimulating environment with a variety of activities
- create a lively and friendly atmosphere, where all are made to feel welcome
Sandbanks Day Centre Activities
Sandbanks Day Centre provides a day service supporting up to 40 adults with moderate to severe physical and learning disabilities, those with autism spectrum disorders and older people living with dementia. The centre delivers a meaningful programme of activities and day care.
The centre offers a variety of interesting and stimulating activities that are designed to meet the needs of their residents.
These include:
- Art and Crafts
- Reminiscence
- Music and Movement
- Health & Beauty group
- Sensory group
- Exercise classes
- Floor Games
- Yoga
- Movie afternoons
- Interactive Stories
- Drama Sessions
Who is the Day Service for?
The service is available to adults with learning disabilities, autism, and vulnerable adults with a diagnosis of Dementia.
Referrals and how to access this service?
Placements can only be offered following a Social Care assessment. The assessment is to clarify the residents needs and ensure that eligibility criteria is met.
