Getting active when you have reduced mobility because of age, illness or a disability can be difficult and expensive. There are a number of services, passes and permits that can make journey planning easier and offer subsidised travel options.

The Occupational Therapy Team can advise on equipment and aids such as grab rails and ramps to make getting in and out of your home easier and safer.

Our travel trainers can help you if you have a learning disability and/or autism and need support to build confidence using public transport.

AccessAble and the TFL journey planner can help you plan your trips.

Shopmobility Hounslow provides battery-powered scooters and manual wheelchairs for hire at low cost. Driving Mobility offer advice on driving with a disability or health condition and information on other mobility options.

Passes and permits

If you are eligible, a Blue Badge will allow you to park in designated disabled bays. Dial-a-Ride offers pre-booked, door-to-door transport by an accessible bus. The London TaxiCard offers subsidised journeys for individuals in accessible cabs.

You may be able to request a disabled parking bay close to your home.
