Severe weather emergency protocol

The Mayor of London activates the 'severe weather emergency protocol (SWEP)' whenever temperatures in Hounslow are expected to fall below freezing.

This is designed to protect people who are sleeping rough by making emergency accommodation available.

Our Rough Sleeper Outreach Team goes out on these days to identify anyone who is sleeping rough and to encourage them to come inside to a warm, safe place.

Rough sleepers are also offered ongoing support as part of this process to help them come off the streets for good.
