Anti-social behaviour

There is different guidance about anti-social behaviour if it is related to council housing or a council tenant. See: Council tenants: Anti-social behaviour.

We are committed to creating neighbourhoods where everyone feels welcome, safe and supported.

Our Safer Communities team helps to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour to help create a better living environment for everyone in our community.

Anti-social behaviour (ASB) is:

  • behaviour that causes (or is likely to cause) harassment, alarm, or distress to any persons, not of the same household
  • conduct capable of causing nuisance or annoyance to a person in relation to that person’s occupation of residential premises

This is as defined in the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act (2014) (PDF)
