Hounslow Council Leader Councillor Shantanu Rajawat has issued a statement following the incident in Hounslow over the weekend.

Councillor Rajawat said:
I am deeply shocked and saddened to hear about the horrendous murder of one of our residents in Hounslow over the weekend.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the victim’s family and friends during this difficult time.
Detectives from the Met's Specialist Crime Command are leading the investigation and the Police have made an appeal to hear from anyone who was in the area and witnessed the attack, the moments leading up to it, or the aftermath.
I would like to reassure communities in Hounslow that the Police are doing everything they can and you will see an increase in policing numbers in the coming days as the police set up their reassurance patrols in the area.
I would also like to reiterate that while the incident happened outside the Hounslow Muslim Centre, at this time, there is nothing to suggest a link to the venue.
