Carers week event

Taking place during Carers Week, this event – from 10am to 3pm on Thursday, 12 June at Holy Trinity Church on Hounslow High Street - offers an opportunity to connect and share experiences. There is no need to sign up, simply turn up on the day.

Guests will have the opportunity to learn about the support available in the borough while participating in a range of activities.

This event is designed for unpaid carers living in Hounslow. This includes those who look after someone, whether it's a family member, friend, or neighbour - providing support full-time or on an ad hoc basis.

Visitors are welcome to bring the person they care for, with accessibility information for Holy Trinity Church available HERE.

Activities on the day include:

  • Zumba, yoga and mindfulness
  • Opportunities to chat to healthcare providers and local support services, offering personalised advice
  • Access to key health initiatives such as breast screening and mental health support
  • Free health checks
  • Information on the Council’s new Carers Advice Service
  • Refreshments and nibbles, including non-alcoholic cocktails

Commenting on what should be a memorable day, Hounslow Council's Cabinet Member for Adult Social Care, Public Health and Integration, Councillor Lily Bath, said: “There are over 19,000 unpaid carers in Hounslow, and we know that they’re caring for longer hours than ever before. This event is a chance to say thank you, share experiences and have some fun. The event will also include news of our exciting new Carers Advice Service, an important resource for this wonderful community.”
