Brentford’s Creative Mile is one of the most eclectic art festivals in London. Over one hundred artists and makers showcase their work in unique venues across Brentford. Such creativity will be present at open studios, on a Thames ait, industrial buildings, churches, galleries, cafes and pubs.  This year will also see Hounslow Council offer its iconic Boston Manor House as a venue.

Councillor Salman Shaheen, Cabinet Member for Culture, Leisure and Public Spaces at Hounslow Council, said:

As a Brentford resident and the Cabinet Member for Culture, I am delighted that we can help fund Brentford’s fifth Creative Mile event and offer the iconic Boston Manor House as a venue.

As a borough, we have a proud history of supporting the creative industries to flourish and this event will certainly showcase the very best local talent. I encourage residents and visitors from far and wide to come along and discover what the artists, creatives and musicians have to offer.

Brentford-artist Mr Pearce and founder of Creative Mile said:

Creative Mile has always been the town working together to put a spotlight on what is already here.  The weekend provides an opportunity for artists and other creatives to show their work to a large audience in one weekend.  We appreciate the ongoing support of Hounslow Council in providing a grant to help us deliver this event.

For artists and creatives that wish to participate, they have until Sunday 15 June to register via the website.  All forms of creativity are welcome.

The Creative Mile Youth Art Competition is currently open, visit the website for more information.

The three-day event is part of the Council’s wider Summer of Culture programme, which lights up Hounslow’s parks and open spaces with live shows, pop-up theatre, dance, music, and family-friendly activities. A full list of Summer of Culture events can be found here.
