SEND services in Hounslow have been further bolstered with the announcement of an improved Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Information, Advice and Support Service (SENDIASS).
Published: Friday, 4th April 2025

SENDIASS provides free and confidential guidance for Hounslow parents and carers and children/young people with SEND aged 0-25. As a statutory service, SENDIASS works independently from the local authority, helping families navigate Education, Health, and Care plans (EHCPs), understand their rights, and SEND policies and prepare for annual reviews and mediation.
The SENDIASS service has also gone through some recent changes that has seen the recruitment of new staff, training to support more cases, and an updated website that will provide improved information for residents.
Councillor Samia Chaudhary, Cabinet Member for Education, Children, Skills, and Employment at Hounslow Council, commented: “Coupled with our existing local offer, families wishing to access SEND information and advice are now armed with a full suite of local support. There is still work to do, but our SEND improvement journey is gaining momentum, and I’m delighted with the progress made to date.”
To get in touch with the SENDIASS team, call the helpline at 020 8583 2607 (Monday-Friday, 9am - 2pm) or email sendiass@hounslow.gov.uk. The SENDIASS team is also available at monthly SEND surgeries.
