Hounslow Council thanks residents for over 800 responses to its Brentford Fountain Leisure Centre survey; an opportunity to share what people want in a new leisure centre.
Published: Wednesday, 29th January 2025

The recent survey invited residents, staff, facility users, non-leisure users, and community groups to help shape a modern, accessible, and inclusive facility that will serve Brentford for decades to come.
Cllr Salman Shaheen, Cabinet Member for Culture, Leisure and Public Spaces, said:
“Over 800 submissions is an incredible response and is testament to the significant role Brentford Fountain Leisure Centre plays in our community. I want to thank all those who have taken part so far, because this feedback will be invaluable as we look to better meet the needs of our residents.
“The existing leisure centre remains open and there is not yet a date set for closure. This is the beginning of a comprehensive community engagement process aimed at transforming our leisure centre into a modern facility that truly reflects the desires and requirements of the people it serves.”
In addition to the survey, Hounslow Council has been conducting a series of discussion sessions with local organisations to ensure that a wide spectrum of community voices are heard and incorporated into the planning process.
These discussions will continue over the next few weeks, culminating in a comprehensive report to Hounslow Council’s cabinet that will be made publicly available, providing transparency and insights into the community's priorities and expectations.
The end of the initial survey marks the first phase of public participation in the redevelopment of the Brentford Fountain Leisure Centre. Residents are encouraged to stay engaged as the project progresses, with more opportunities to participate and provide input as plans are further developed and refined.
