Residents from across Hounslow are invited to celebrate this important occasion at Holy Trinity Church, Hounslow High Street, on Tuesday 3 December.
Published: Thursday, 31st October 2024
The free event will feature keynote speakers from UCL, the University of Exeter, and TfL in conversation about how to make the borough more accessible and inclusive.
Attendees will have the opportunity to explore job opportunities, support local disability groups, and get guidance on inclusive career pathways.
Hounslow Council’s Cabinet Member for Resident Support, Communities and Equalities, Councillor Ajmer Grewal, said:
“We are committed to making Hounslow a fairer, more equal borough. We want to foster a culture where everyone plays their part in striving for equality and this event will amplify the voices of disabled people in our borough.
“I would encourage residents to attend this event as it’s a fantastic opportunity to share ideas on transport, health, and the impact of climate change on people with disabilities.”
With this year’s event focusing on climate change and disability rights, the event will also host a panel discussion on how we can all support disabled residents and empower them to participate fully in the transition to a greener Hounslow.
A free lunch will be provided – along with British Sign Language for those who may need an interpreter.
Residents can book on to the event here.
