Only one week left to register to vote, don’t miss out!

The deadline to register to vote in the upcoming Mayor of London and London Assembly elections is Tuesday, 16 April.

Hounslow residents who have not yet registered to vote have only one week left to do so, for the upcoming Mayor of London and London Assembly elections. The deadline is Tuesday, 16 April.

If you know you’re not registered, you can register to vote online. It only takes a few minutes. All British, European Union and Commonwealth citizens are eligible to vote in the Mayor of London and London Assembly elections, if they are aged 18 or over on polling day.

If you have moved recently, you should have registered at your new address. Every eligible Hounslow resident on the Electoral Register should by now have received a poll card confirming the details of their polling station. If you haven’t received your poll card, please check that you’re registered to vote by contacting the council’s Electoral Services team by emailing elections@hounslow.gov.uk or calling 020 8583 2828.

Where to vote?

Your polling station will be open from 7am until 10pm on election day. Your poll card will include details of your named polling station. You can find your polling station in moments, online.

You now need to present an accepted form of photo ID to vote in person on polling day. A full list of accepted photo ID can be found online. Make sure to check in advance that you have the right photo ID. If your photo ID has expired, it will still be accepted, as long as the photo still looks like you.

If you do not have a suitable form of photo ID, you can apply for free photo ID to vote, called a Voter Authority Certificate. The deadline to apply is 5pm on Wednesday, 24 April.

Can’t get to the polling station?

Anyone who is registered to vote can apply online to have their ballot paper sent to them in the post. Paper forms can be requested by emailing elections@hounslow.gov.uk

The deadline for Electoral Services to receive completed applications to vote by post or written notifications of changes to existing postal or proxy arrangements is 5pm on Wednesday, 17 April.

If you wish to apply for someone to vote on your behalf, you need to submit a new proxy vote application. Apply for a proxy vote online, or if you need a paper application form, email elections@hounslow.gov.uk The deadline for Electoral Services to receive completed applications to vote by proxy is 5pm Wednesday, 24 April.
