The London borough of Hounslow has today, Wednesday 13 March, launched a groundbreaking investment prospectus, 'Opportunity Hounslow,' highlighting the borough's prime development sites.

Titled 'Opportunity Hounslow: Gateway to London and the World,' the prospectus describes Hounslow's strategic position as a hub for green innovation, smart logistics, media production, and dynamic urban development.

With a focus on fostering sustainable growth that benefits all communities, 'Opportunity Hounslow' sets the stage for transformative projects that will help shape the future of the borough.

The Council has also published two new visionary town centre masterplans for Brentford and Hounslow today, aimed at revitalising these important urban centres, encouraging regeneration, jobs and prosperity for local residents and businesses.

The prospectus and masterplans launched today at MIPIM - a leading international development and regeneration conference in Cannes, France - outline key investment opportunities, initiatives focused on sustainable growth, enhanced public amenities, and improved community well-being.

This ambitious blueprint sets out to deliver over 4,600 new homes and 2,500 job opportunities, marking a significant step towards realising Hounslow's potential as a leading destination for sustainable and inclusive growth.

As well as launching these key strategies, the council were also promoting other key development opportunities to invest in the borough, such as the historic Cavalry Barracks site in Hounslow.

Councillor Shantanu Rajawat, leader of Hounslow Council, speaking at the launch said:

“Launching 'Opportunity Hounslow' at MIPIM – an international investment conference – is an historic moment for the council and reinforces our ambitious plans for the borough. This prospectus not only showcases Hounslow's immense potential but also our clear vision for a sustainable, inclusive future. With key development sites ready for transformation, we're inviting partners to join us in realising Hounslow's full potential as a vibrant, green, and connected community.”

Major partners have welcomed today’s announcements, including Premier League club, Brentford FC, Berkeley Group and Hadley Property group, as well as the GLA’s deputy mayor for regeneration.

Speaking at the launch of the prospectus, Cliff Crown, chair of Brentford FC said:

“Like Hounslow Council, we see huge potential in the people of Hounslow and, like the Council, we see our role as using our success to support local people in fulfilling their potential, opening doors that they might not otherwise have access to. We’re at MIPIM this week to help communicate the importance of that role for all investors in the borough, so that growth and development is positive for the people of the borough.”

Matt Griffiths-Rimmer, Communications and Impact Director at Hadley Property Group added:

“Great placemaking will always have the wishes of the community at its heart. Recognising the importance of local residents as key local stakeholders – and going on that journey together – will always pay dividends. That’s why we’re so pleased to be working so closely with Hounslow, a council that shares the value we place on people within our projects”.

Deputy Mayor, Planning, Regeneration and Skills for Greater London Authority, Jules Pipe CBE, said:

“As London’s Deputy Mayor for Planning, Regeneration, and Skills, I welcome Hounslow Council's approach to showcasing 'Opportunity Hounslow' at MIPIM 2024. Their prospectus reflects the borough's commitment to sustainable growth, community development, and fostering strong partnerships. Hounslow's strategic vision of creating vibrant, inclusive spaces that thrive economically and socially aligns with the Mayor’s ambition of building a better, fairer, more prosperous London for all."
