Cllr Rajawat

The Leader of the Council, Councillor Shantanu Rajawat, will be hosting a livestream on Tuesday 30 January to answer questions from residents about the council's proposals for the budget following the provisional Local Government financial settlement announced in December.

This year we have entered our budget setting process with huge financial pressures as a result of high inflation and high interest rates causing increased running costs, which has been aggravated by failed government policies, causing a crisis in health, social care, the asylum system and housing.

Despite this the Council is looking to deliver a balanced, sustainable budget despite extraordinary financial pressures, whilst delivering on its commitments to build a Thriving, Safer, Cleaner, Greener and Healthier borough for residents, businesses, and communities.

The final settlement will be announced by the end of January/ beginning of February.

The live Q&A event will be hosted online via Teams and broadcast across the Council’s YouTube channel
