They include five organisations who were winners at the recent One Hounslow Community Stars awards, including West London Queer Project, whose new football sessions kick-off on Saturday 19 August.

Promotion of these events follows last year’s Hounslow Assembly at the Brentford Gtech Community Stadium. As with last November, these gatherings, which include workshops, runs, bike rides, repair shops and sports taster sessions, will celebrate the borough’s rich and diverse voluntary sector, offering a platform to promote a cross-section of the 800 plus groups that exist across Hounslow.

Councillor Shivraj Grewal, Cabinet Member for Communities, Equalities and Culture commented: “By shining a spotlight on these organisations, we once again send an important message to residents that help is out there, from the simple, fun social activities to cost of living related issues and mental health support. It’s important that as a Council we continue to promote their work.

“We were delighted to bring together the Hounslow Assembly last year, where over 500 people and partners came together to enjoy sessions that showcased their work. This summer’s ‘on-the-road’ sessions seek to build on that platform and will help us take forward our exciting plans for next Spring’s full day Assembly celebrating working in partnership.”
